asked:
I am somewhat new to comics. I go into a comic store and see all these comic series that really interest me but when I look at the issue number the majority of them are high issue numbers such as 10 – 100 more or less. How do I get into some comics when the majority of them have already been running, wouldn’t I miss a bunch of story line?

You can always read them online, and then you won’t be behind on the story line c:
well, as me .i will get the plots from the wiki or on some forum, get the roughly information from there. and i will start the comic book.maybe i will skip some plots in order to reach the next plot quickly. like the time when i read the manga:Naruto. there are 456 chapters when i begin to read this manga ,i just use this method. now i am waiting the author update the next chapter.
You can buy the trade paperbacks for some of them to fill in those earlier issues, usually the have about 6 issues a book, you can sometimes get thicker ones. with more issues.
You can pick some of them up from wherever it is and it wont be a problem as they are written in such a way that you don’t need to know previous history to get into a story.
